Project 365, Day #181

Hello,

I hope you had a good weekend.  I worked in the studio tonight on other projects, so I decided to do my butterfly while I was out there.  Here is butterfly #181.

I made a gift bag out of one piece of 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.   A little ribbon, a greeting and voila.   It is a nice way to wrap up something.

Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #180

Hello,

I hope you had a good Saturday!  Very busy day for me.  Here is butterfly #180.

Another sketch, illustration for you tonight.  A simple one but I like the sketch lines.  That's all I have for you tonight.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!

Project 365, Day #179

Hello,

I hope you had a good Friday.  I have a illustration for tonight.  Here is butterfly #179.

I used the marker to show my sketch lines.  I really like the look of the sketch lines.  I actually have a hard time erasing them when I just do a single marker line from my sketches.

I have lots of packing to do this weekend.  We are starting our kitchen and bathroom remodel in two weeks.  I have packed up about 15 boxes so far and that is not even a dent in it.  Lots of work to do and trying to figure out what to do with everything you might need, is always fun.  Have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #178

Hello,

I cleaned up in the studio for a bit after dinner and decided I would make a card tonight.  I was also working on a project for stamp academy.  Here is butterfly #178.

This is a 3" x 3" card.  It is a simple color on color design.  It uses the new Wanderlust Photopolymer Stamp Set.  The stamps are completely clear.  I was going for a simple design and wanted it to look like the butterfly was writing my name.  It didn't work out exactly like I was thinking in my head.  I also realized how bad my cursive is.  I hardly ever write in cursive, I always print.  Of course I sign my name but then it is not so legible.  : )  That's all for tonight.  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #177

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  Here is butterfly #177.

I decided to use the entire sheet of paper tonight and have the negative space be the butterfly.  Relatively quick butterfly and simple.  Sometimes it's nice to finish one quickly.  That's it for tonight.  Have a great night and thanks for stopping by.

Kelly

Project 365, Day #176

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  Mine was stressful, so on to my butterfly.  : )  Here is butterfly #176.

I got some supplies from the new catalog today.  I decided to put a card together quick.  Here is what I came up with.  Monochromatic, something I like to do a lot.  The greeting is smeared intentionally.  I didn't unpack my catalogs yet, so I don't have the recipe for you.  If you are interested, let me know and I will post later.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #175

Hello,

I have a quick post tonight.  Here is butterfly #175.

Another origami butterfly.  A few more folds than yesterday's butterfly.  The origami paper really makes them look nice.   That's it for me.  Have a great night!

Project 365, Day #174

Hello,

I hope you had a good weekend.  I decided to do another origami butterfly tonight.  Here is butterfly #174.

This is a really simple butterfly.  Only five folds needed for this one.  I do like the simplicity of it.

That's it for me tonight.  Tomorrow is the first day of summer vacation now for all the girls.  Looking forward to it, but it will be a busy summer.  I already now it will fly by, but will remember to sit back and relax.   Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #173

Hello,

Happy Saturday to you, I hope it was a good one.  I have an illustration for you tonight.  Here is butterfly #173.

I still need to buy a flash drive so the pictures look better.  That's all I have for tonight.  Lots of work going on and I am definitely tired.  Don't have all the energy I used to.  : )  Have a great night!

Kelly

Project 365, Day #172

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  Molly had her promotion ceremony today.  I helped out in the morning for about 3 hours with set up.  It was a beautiful day and a very nice ceremony.  After, we went to dinner.  Molly got to choose her restaurant and she chose, Seasons 52.  A great place with fresh dishes and the best desserts, served in shot glass type dishes.  Molly had a good day and went to a friends house after.  The rest of us are sitting around playing Heads Up.  Have you every played that?  We just downloaded it tonight and have been playing it for 3 hours now.  I just remembered I needed to do my butterfly, so here is butterfly #172.

A quick illustration for tonight.  That's all for me for tonight.  I am very tired.  Although everyone else is still playing the game, so we'll see how much longer I am up.  Have a great weekend!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #171

Hello,

It seems I am always writing the same things.  : )   I don't know how much you really want to hear.  Tomorrow Molly has her promotion ceremony for eighth grade.  It's hard to believe how old my girls are getting.  We had a busy day of looking for items for the kitchen again.  I have a quick illustration for you tonight.  Here is butterfly #171.

I was actually inspired by Molly.  The eighth grade trip to Disneyland was today.  I just picked her up at 9pm and she had her face painted.  She had a butterfly.  It was so cute and reminded me of when they were little and did that.  Here butterfly was done with simple lines, so that's what I decided to do.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #170

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  I have a card for you tonight.  Here is butterfly #170.

This is a 3" x 3" card.  It uses items from the new catalog.  I like the little details on this card.  The colors seem more striking in person.  Any greeting can be added to the inside, which I like.  It's nice to have blank cards on hand.  That's all for tonight.  If you want any details on the card, just let me know.  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #169

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  Today I had a busy day.  After dinner we watched So You Think You  Can Dance.  It is one of my favorite shows.  I love to dance and admire all the talent on the show.  In my next life, I hope to be a dancer.  : )  I decided to draw a butterfly tonight with a twist.

I decided to add ballet legs to this butterfly, my inspiration from watching the show tonight.  They are very simple legs.  I didn't want to add to much because I still wanted the feel of a butterfly.  It is still a really dark image though because I had to take a picture of my illustration and then upload it.  A little different image tonight and I hope you like it.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #168

Hello,

It's a Monday for sure.  I just think we need three day weekends all the time.  These regular weekends are just to short.  Not enough time to get things done and relax.  : )  I have a card for you tonight.  Here is butterfly #168.

I cut the wings out of a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock, that I dry embossed, with a new embossing folder.  They just seemed to be perfect patterns for the wings.  I kept the design simple and I like how the negative space between the wings made the body.  That's all for tonight.  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #167

Happy Father's Day!

I hope all the dad's out there are having a great day!  We started our day by going to the beach at 7am and cooking breakfast.  It was so nice and peaceful, we had a great time.  Here is a picture of some of the items cooking.

I already cooked the Irish bacon and that was on a plate, so that's not in the picture.  We also had eggs, pancakes and toast.  This was the first time we tried this and it worked out well and the entire family enjoyed it.  The rest of the day has been low key.  Chris is relaxing and enjoying his day.  We were out chatting and I got to draw my butterfly at the same time.  Here is butterfly #167.

I like the way this one turned out.  I like the lines in it.  Now I am off to finish cooking dinner.  I look forward to a relaxing dinner and hopefully get to bed a little early.  Hope you are having a great day.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #166

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  We spent over 5 hours shopping for kitchen things.  Trying to pick tiles, counter tops and more.  Very confusing, because every time you go to a new store you see something else you like.   Today's butterfly is a gift for Chris tomorrow.  It has images specific to him but the general greeting is for all the Dad's out there.  Here is butterfly #166.

I still didn't get another flash drive, so I had to take a photo of my illustration.  It comes out a little dark though.  This is my Happy Father's Day greeting to all the dads out there.  This is for any father figure out there who helps out and watches over us.  Thanks for all you do!  Can you see the greeting?  I tried to make them a little hidden but they still pop for the most part.  Let me know what you think.  Have a great day tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #165

Happy Friday to you!

I hope you had a good day.  It was a busy day for me.  I did get to go to a bead class this afternoon, so that was nice.  I miss beading, so it was great to do a new project.  Molly had her eighth grade dance tonight.  She only has a week left of school and then she will also be in high school.  Time sure does fly.  It was getting late so I decided to do an origami butterfly tonight.  Here is butterfly #165.

This is a different pattern than the ones I have done before.  It is a pretty simple one, but I really like the look finished look.  I found my origami paper also.  It makes the butterfly look extra special.  Today is day #165, so only 200 days left.  : )

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #164

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  I have another illustration tonight.  My flash drive was not working at all. The scanner doesn't work wireless and I don't have a cord to connect it directly to my computer.  I have been trying to figure other things out but I couldn't get anything to work.  So, I took a picture with my phone.  It is not the best quality, but it works.  Here is butterfly #164.

I did a very simplistic, simple shape butterfly tonight.  I like this one and hope you enjoy it too.  I have to figure out why the flash drive crashed but I am not technically savvy, so we'll see what happens.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #163

Hello,

I hope everyone had a good day.  I have an illustration for you tonight.  Here is butterfly #163.

I hope you have enjoyed my butterfly journey so far.  It is hard to believe sometimes that I have made it this far and I am on butterfly #163.  : )    That's all for tonight.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great night.

Kelly

Project 365, Day #162

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  Not sure where I got the energy from but I made a card for today's butterfly.  I spent the day emptying the shed in the back, putting together two shelving units for the shed and going to the storage unit for one car full trip.  I am trying to go through and organize all our stuff and finally empty the storage unit.  We have had it way to long, and it needs to be emptied.  Problem is there is not enough room here for everything, that means things have to go, which is the hard part.  It is also very overwhelming after a while.  Anyways, here is butterfly #162.

This card uses a few new in colors, as well as a greeting set that is on sale right now, Sassy Salutations.  It is a pretty simple design and I like the way the colors pop with one another.   A few Basic Rhinestones in the lower left corner add that little pop.  That's all for tonight.  I need to relax for a bit and get to bed early, so I can start today's chores all over again tomorrow.  : )  Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #161

Hello,

I have another illustration for tonight's butterfly.  Here is butterfly #161.

Same kind of idea/concept as yesterday's.  I enjoy making these ones up.  Sometimes they get a little confusing but usually work in the end.  That's all for tonight.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!

Kelly

Project 365, Day #160

Hello,

I hope today was a good day for you.  I cleaned up a lot this morning and then I had my stamp camp today from 1-3pm.  It was a good time and we made some nice cards.  After, it was more cleaning up.  I had to put away all the stuff I got out for the stamp camp.  It always takes longer than I think to clean up.  : )  It's nice to get it all back where it belongs though.  After dinner I decided to draw again.  Here is butterfly #160.

A window, or stained glass type butterfly.  I do see one mistake.  Not so much a mistake as an idea/line I was trying to continue and I forgot.  I have a lot of pencil marks on the paper when I do one like this and sometimes it's hard to remember which ones I am inking in.  I do like the finished look of this butterfly.

I hope you had a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day# 159

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  Chris and I spent most of the day out shopping for items for our kitchen and baths.  Very overwhelming.  Every time we go to a new showroom we find something else we like.  It will be hard to decide.  We are definitely having a little sticker shock on things, especially  faucets.  Crazy how much these things can cost.  Tonight I am working on finishing my items for my stamp camp/open house.  I need to finish cutting everything out.  Chris wanted me to watch a show he taped.  It was about the Ambergris Cay Sinkhole in Belize.  I was inspired by that, so here is butterfly #159.

It was a really interesting show about a sinkhole in the ocean.  It was very cool and amazing to see.  It had both stalagmites and stalactites under the ocean.  It is very rare.  They think it was an above ground cave thousands of years ago.  That is where I got my inspirartion from for my butterfly.  I have to say I drew this one up in about 10 minutes, which is pretty quick for me.  I hope you like this one.  I was pretty happy with it.  Have a great evening!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #158

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone had a good day!  Busy day for me.  Molly got inducted to the National Junior Honor Society tonight.  She had a nice little ceremony at school.  We are very proud of her!  So much going on at the end of the school year.  I am very tired, so on to my butterfly.  Here is butterfly #158.

Another illustration tonight.  I like using circles for some reason.  Well that's all for me.  Have a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #157

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  It was a day full of appointments for me.  Well, taking the kids to appointments.  Hannah passed her drivers test today.  She is super excited!!  She can't stop talking about it.  It's so cute.  We are very proud of her.  She is ready to take off and drive all over town.  She is even offering to do the grocery shopping for me.  How about that?!  Well, I did an illustration while I was at the dentist for 1 1/2 hours.  Here is butterfly #157.

I like this one.  A little different design.  Sometimes it's hard because they all start to look to similar to one another and I want them to look different.  Well that's all for tonight.  Let me know what you think of all my crazy butterflies.  Have a great evening.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day # 156

Hello,

Tonight I have another illustration for you.  Here is butterfly #156.

I wanted to create flowing looking wings.  It sort of has the idea I was going for.  Something I can work on for another butterfly as well.   I like how one idea usually sparks ideas for another thing.  That's what I am enjoying about this entire process.

Well, that's all for tonight.  I hope you had a great day and enjoy your evening.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #155

Hi there!

I hope you had a good day.  I have a different butterfly today.  I was getting fruit and vegetables ready to juice this afternoon and I thought I would take advantage of my mess and make a butterfly.  Here is butterfly #155.

This is just part of the fruit.  I still had a bowl of blueberries and blackberries and you can see the apples sitting on the side.  I make a pitcher of fruit blend and one of vegetable blend.  They taste so good.  We haven't done it in a few weeks, so I am excited to have some tomorrow.  That's all for tonight.  Have a great evening!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #154

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  I was definitely tired all day, from yesterday's adventure.  I figured out how to post from my phone now.  I needed to download an app.  I'm not that tech savvy when it comes to my phone and such.  Although most of yesterday's problems were because I couldn't get a connection or stay connected.  Tonight I decided to draw a butterfly.  Here is butterfly #154.

A simple illustration but I really like the way this one turned out.

I should really get to bed early tonight.  So, we'll see if that happens.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great night.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #153

Hello,

This is a quick post.  It is 12:50am.  We just got home from a Mumford & Sons concert.  First let me say it was a great concert!!!  One of the best I have been to in a long time.  The entire family went .  It's pretty weird that everyone is old enough to hang at a concert together.  Anyways, it started late and finished about 10pm and we were stuck in the parking lot for almost two hours, no exaggeration there.  I tried to post from my phone but the connections were horrible.  I kept trying, waiting in the parking lot but all I could do was post the picture on Facebook.  (Actually, I can't seem to log onto blogger on my phone.  I need to see if that's possible.)   I made the butterfly in the afternoon, so I know I made it  for the day, but if you know me, I needed to have some sort of posting with a date.  So here is butterfly #153.

I am not sure why the photo is rotating here.  It's not on my desktop.  Crazy.  Here is a link to my facebook post if you are interested.  https://www.facebook.com/kelly.godlewski?ref=tn_tnmn

It is the same picture, just right side up.  I had to try and send that so many times, even in the parking lot because the connection was terrible.  Of course my girls seemed to be getting on just fine, not sure why that is.  Crazy for sure.  That's all for now.  Got to get up in 5 hours.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #152

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  We are in the planning stages of getting some work done in the house. Today we were working with the designer to help pick things out.  It is very overwhelming and also exciting.  It will be a long process for sure.  That was the main focus for the day.  I decided to do an illustration tonight so it would be a little quicker.  Here is butterfly #152.

I like the wings on this one.  Now that I am looking at the body though, it seems a bit plain.  It is done though.  : )  It's hard to believe that I have done 152 butterflies.  Crazy for sure.  That's all for me tonight.  Have a great Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly
