I hope it was a good day for you. A jam packed one for me. I have a Mother's Day Boutique I am doing on Thursday, so working on a few new items for that. I am teaching a cake decorating class tomorrow at Edison High School. It is for a ROP class, and the instructor asks me every term to come and do the fondant and decorating part. I like to make royal icing up the night before and make a few flowers out of it so the kids can see how the icing hardens. It gets rock hard and then the decorations can be added to the cake. It only made sense to make a few butterflies out the icing, especially since I just finished the flowers at 10pm. Here is butterfly #127.
I made up these four. I didn't feel like changing the icing tips, so I managed with the flower tips. They are not to bad for four attempts. : ) I will show you the little violets I made for the class.
The violets are about 3/4" square, to give you a better idea of their size. I made about 60 of them. If you click on the picture to enlarge it, you can see the two little yellow dots for the center of the violets. These will dry overnight on the wax paper. Then they can be pulled off and added to a cake, cupcake or even cookie. They are the girls favorite tasting decoration.
That's all for tonight. Have a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping by.
