Project 365, Day #120

Hello!

I hope you had a good day.  The usual running for me.  I got a little sewing done today, which was nice.  I have a new clutch with a different design.  I still need to glue it into the frame so hopefully I will finish that tomorrow and show you then.  I had a conference call for a boot camp I am doing on productivity.  It is every Tuesday for four weeks.  My goal is to hopefully learn a little something and get into a better work ethic and be more productive.  After the call I decided to go and make a card quick.  Here is butterfly #120.

A rather simple design and elements that I have used before as well.  The details in this card are the White Tea Lace Paper Doilies.  I decided to grab a couple bunches and cut butterflies out of them.  It turned out to be eight lace doilies.  I alternated with dimensionals and glue dots between the layers.  This gives the fanned out look.

I like all the layers of the doilies, it really is a nice look, especially in person.  I hope you enjoyed tonight's butterfly.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #119

Hello,

I hope you all had a good day.  It was a Monday for sure.  I have an illustration for you tonight.  Here is butterfly #119.

I was having a hard time getting motivated tonight so I decided to base it off of yesterday's design.  I like the style of these and I like the outcome of this one.  That's all for tonight.

Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #118

Good evening!

I hope you all had a great Sunday!  It started out with overcast but turned into a beautiful day!  We got a lot done but also got to relax.  Chris and I went to Whole Foods early and planned a menu for three days.  That never happens and I am glad we did.  It is nice to not have to think about things for a few days.  I know that's how we should shop but just hasn't happened like that for a long time.  : )  We juiced up a couple pitchers, one vegetable and one fruit, for the next two days.  Yum.  I also got to relax in the sun for a bit and catch some rays.  Very nice.  We made a great Sunday dinner and had good family time.  I also got my butterfly done early.  Here is butterfly #118.

A negative space butterfly for you tonight.  A little different from what I have been doing.  I do like the look of this one.  Let me know what you think.  I like to read your comments.

Have a great evening!  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #117

Hello,

I hope you all had a good Saturday.  I had my show today.  I thought I was tired the past few nights, but tonight beats them all.  I only got 4 hours of sleep last night, but still, I am crazy tired.  Molly and I left about 8:15 this morning and got home about 7:30 tonight, so a long day.  We ate dinner and I almost went to bed, but thank goodness I remembered my butterfly.  Here is butterfly #117.

A illustration for you.  Pretty quick for the most part, with this one.  I guess that's it for tonight.  Have a great evening!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #116

Hello,

A late post tonight.  I have been finishing up for my show tomorrow.  Here is butterfly #116.

A few spring batik bags with butterflies.  I love the batik fabric with the butterflies, it just seems to be a perfect accent with them.  Well that's all for today.  I still need to print a few things out before I go to bed.

If you are local, I hope you can stop by the show tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my butterflies.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #115

Hello!

I hope you had a good Thursday!  I helped out with the eighth grade promotion today for a couple of hours.  We were cutting die shapes for decorations on the day.  That's my kind of help.  : )  The rest of the day was the usual running and sewing.  I do have a little 3" x 3" card for you tonight.  Here is butterfly #115.

This is my thank you card I send out with all the orders on my Etsy site.  I usually don't have the butterflies though.  They are a new addition.  I like the little detail of them.

I added Basic Rhinestones to the center of the butterflies.  I first colored them with a sharpie, to get a little color on them.  The color I had didn't match Pool Party exactly but it looks close when it is on the card.  I hope you like this little  3x3 card.  These are really fun to do and I love this size for gifts and thank you's.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #114

Hello!

I hope you had a good day!  It will be a super quick post tonight.  I have been sewing most of the day and all evening.  Here is butterfly #114.

Here are some of the items I made today and a few from the past couple days.  I figured this would be the easiest for a butterfly tonight.  Here is a picture of the bags, as they should be.

Pretty spring fabrics.  I love the spring colors, it makes me happy just looking at them.  : )

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a good evening/day!

Project 365, Day #113

Hello!

I hope you all had a good day.  It was a busy day for me.  Still working on my stuff for my show on  Saturday.  Chris asked if I wanted a date night tonight, so I said yes of course.  I fixed the girls dinner,  Chris helped Hannah with her math and then we went out for dinner.   We went to a local place we like and ate at the bar.  Chris likes to eat at the bar.  We tend to end up eating next to people who are in need of some company and tonight was the same.  I don't mind chatting with people, it's just that Chris and I don't get to have a conversation.  It was still a good night though.  I decided to do my butterfly there.  Here is butterfly #113.

I set up our glasses and napkins to make the butterfly.  Chris thought of adding the forks for the antennae.  Odd butterfly, but still a butterfly.  Of course I got a few people asking what was going on.  The bartender and our new friend next to us.  I try to explain a bit but people are not always that interested.  That is my butterfly tonight.  I really need to go and sew some more.  I hope you have a great evening.

Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #112

Happy Monday to you!

I hope you had a good day.  I think I need to say that to cheer myself up as well as wishing you a good day.  It seems like when things go wrong, they usually pile up in multiples.  Not sure why that is but it definitely happens.  In the grand scheme of things, they are just trivial and I definitely can't complain about them.  Just makes the day seem longer, when you have to redo a few things.  That's part of life though.  : )  We did have a beautiful sunny day here again today, and it is starting to be warmer in the morning, which I do enjoy.  I love to be able to open the back door to let the boys out and then leave it open for the day.  Love that fresh warm air!

I decided on another illustration for tonight again.  I have been sewing for my show on Saturday, so I am tired by 9:00pm to start and make a card.  Here is butterfly #112.

Can you tell I like the little 'curly q's' at the end of a line.  I like the simplicity of it and also the look.  I like this butterfly and I hope you do to!  Let me know what you think.

I am finding this 'project 365' whole process very therapeutic and challenging at the same time.  Sometimes I feel so tired I don't even want to think about making a butterfly.  I know I don't want to give up as well, so I make a butterfly.  Finishing the butterfly and then taking the time to write the post always makes me feel good.  I may be exhausted by the end of it, but mentally I feel good that I accomplished another day.  So I want to say a big thank you to all of you who take the time to read my crazy posts and see what butterfly I come up with.  If this is your first visit or 100th, I appreciate every one.

Thanks so much and have a great night!!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #111

Hello,

I hope you had a good Sunday!  We had a good day.  I was working in the studio for a bit today.  In the morning I helped Molly rearrange her room.  She has a lot of work to do, to put it all back and get organized.  The organization thing, seems to be difficult for all of us in this house.  : )  I was pretty tired by the end of the day.  I probably got a little to much sun yesterday and today.  It always wears me out.   On to today's butterfly.  I decided on an illustration.  Here is butterfly #111.

It is a butterfly that says butterfly.  Can you see the letters?  A simple idea but it took a few times to get it right.  This one would probably look cool colored in.  We'll see if I get back to it, to color it in.  I'm off to get a cup of tea and try and get to sleep early tonight.  I was up for about 1 1/2 hours this morning at 4am.  I tried to fall back to sleep but it just isn't the same.  I guess that's why I'm so tired as well.  Gosh, I forgot about that, until just now.

Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #110

Hello!

I hope you all had a great Saturday!  The morning started with Molly making some blueberry muffins for everyone.  Here is a pic for you.

She made them herself and found the recipe online.  She just decided she wanted to make them and then did all the work.  She wants to be a chef, so I want to do my best to encourage her.  They were yummy!

The late morning and afternoon we did yard work.  Chris mowed the lawn and I did the weed pulling in all the pots and beds.  It was a beautiful day so it was great to be outside!  I also got to do a little sewing and working on the final phases of a couple of my patterns.  I thought we might go out for dinner but Chris wanted to cook.  He went to the store and cooked up some 'tapas'.  It was quite good and nice to relax in the back yard.  We were hanging out and I came up with a funny idea for my butterfly.  Here is butterfly #110.

I was wondering if the dogs would sit still to do the picture and they did.  Molly was happy to volunteer to help out.  It is pretty funny don't you think?!  I little abstract butterfly for you.  Then Hannah joined in and came up with this little addition.

A few antennae to make the butterfly complete.  I hope you enjoy this one, because I was laughing pretty hard!  So cute and just so sweet to have everyone a part of it.  Do you notice the 'boys' holding on to Molly.  They are so cute!  Well that's all for tonight.  Have a great evening!!  Enjoy your Sunday and I will talk to you tomorrow night!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #109

Hello,

I hope you are having a good Friday.  I have an early post today.  We have tickets to a play at the high school tonight, so I need to get the post done before we go.  Here is butterfly #109.

I had this in mind to go along with yesterday's butterflies.  I am using it as a napkin holder but it could be used for much more.  When we are outside and using plastic utensils, those can be added to it as well.  Another idea is a cello bag with treats inside; for a shower, special occasion or just whenever you want to give a treat.

Supplies:
DSP Paper Stacks 2011-2013 - 122384
Whisper White Card Stock - 100730
Wisteria Wonder 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon - 122973
Big Shot - 113439
 Beautiful Wings Embosslits - 118138

Sticky Strip - 104294
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

I have butterflies going all the way around the Fancy Favor box.  The Wisteria Wonder 3/8" Ruffled trim is wrapped around the box as well and then tied in a bow.  I have the Basic Rhinestones on just the front butterflies.

That's all for today.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!

Project 365, Day #108

Hi there!

I hope you all had a good day.  Busy day running, chores and a little sewing.  Still working on perfecting a pattern.  Here is butterfly #108.

I made butterfly garland.   You could use it as table decoration, like this photo.  Or hang it up.

It was hard to get a good photo of the hanging butterflies.  They look much better in person.   The girls really liked it.  It looks nice and springy.  I think I will use them for my booth decoration, for a show I am doing next weekend.  I cut doubles of all the butterflies and then sewed ten sets of them together with a continuous stitch.   I made four different strands, so they wouldn't be to long and get tangled.

That's all for tonight.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #107

Hello,

I hope you had a good Wednesday!  I was working on some new hand held zipper clutches.  I was working on the design and the layering of fabric and interfacing.  I want to get them just right so they stand up on their own and keep their body.  It is a long process because you really can't tell how it's going to work until it is all done.  Then I want to change something and I need to start all over again.  This is that tedious process that I don't like as much but it is a necessity.

On to tonight's butterfly.  I have an illustration for you tonight.  Here is butterfly #107.

I started with a pencil sketch and the went over with the black marker for this one.  I really like the look of this one.  I think it would be cool with some color behind it as well.

I guess that's all for tonight.  I hope you have a great evening and great day tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day # 106

Hello again,

I am tired today, so I am going straight to my butterfly tonight, no banter.  : )  Here is butterfly #106.

A combination of a few different elements.  A new stamp set from the upcoming catalog, doilies from the current spring catalog and the diagonal score plate for the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.  I picked the colors by going to my Color Coach.  I was at a loss as to where to start tonight, so I went to look for my colors first.  From there I bounced around to different stamp sets and remembered I just received this new set in the mail yesterday.

I hope you enjoyed this one.  I am not listing the supplies tonight.  If anyone would like the supply details, just let me know and then I will add them later.  I hope you all have a great evening!!  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #105

Hello!

Hope you all had a good Monday.  Busy day as usual for me.  I did get to finish the bibs and blankets I was working on for a co-worker of my husband.  I also needed to make a card so that leads to today's butterfly.  Here us butterfly #105.

She had twin girls, so it was fun to add the two little pink onesies.  The butterflies are just little accents on the pool party brads.  The brads hold the bakers twine which acts as my little clothes line.

Supplies:
Sassy Salutations - 126707 clear, 126705 wood
More Amore Specialty DSP - 129309
Primrose Petals Core'dinations  Card Stock - 129322
Very Vanilla Card Stock - 101650
Pool Party Card Stock - 122924
Real Red Card Stock - 102482
Rose Red Ink - 126954
Real Red Marker - 100052
Primrose Petals Marker
Big Shot - 113439
 Beautiful Wings Embosslits - 118138
Designer Printed Brads - 122940
Pool Party Bakers Twine - 125574
Scallop Trim Border Punch - 118402
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

I hope you like the card.  Here is a pic of the bibs and blankets.

I do still need to add the velcro dots to the bibs.  I have to go buy those, I thought I had some but can't seem to find them.  I made two different style of blankets.  Rounded corners on two and binding made of the opposite side of the blankets for the other two.

Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #104

Hello!

I hope you all had a good Sunday.  I felt really run down today, and definitely feel like I am fighting a cold.  I was working on some baby blankets and bibs.  I didn't get as far as I would of liked because of how I felt.  I knew today's butterfly had to be an easy and quick one.  We cooked a nice dinner tonight and I thought I would play with my food again for my butterfly.  Here is butterfly #104.

A little mashed cauliflower and peas with pearl onions.  We roasted a chicken for dinner and it was delicious.  We haven't had a nice Sunday dinner in a while, so it was great.  Instead of mashed potatoes I have been making mashed cauliflower.  Everyone loves it.  It is so easy to do and tastes great!  The peas and onions are one of Chris' favorites.  It's funny because I plated the food for everyone and when I got to mine I knew I was going to do my butterfly.  All I could think of was the scene from Close Encounters of the Third Kind and the mashed potatoes scene.  Anyone remember that?  Not sure why that popped into my head but it made me chuckle.  Well I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Enjoy your evening and thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #103

Hello!

I have a quick post tonight.  It's getting late again.  I have been working in MDS tonight for my butterfly.  I have a card base for you tonight.  Any text could be added to this.  Here is butterfly #103.

I have the butterflies as subtle backgrounds.  The text I have in mind will fill most of the center.  What do you think of this?  In case you don't know MDS is My Digital Studio software from Stampin' Up!.  You can create just about anything in it, cards, scrapbook pages, photo albums, items for 3D projects and more.  They can be all digital or you can print items out and then add embellishments to them.  I haven't worked with it for a while, but it was fun to create with it again.  If you have any questions about it, just let me know.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #102

Hello,

I hope everyone had a good day.  Hannah came home early today.  Her foot was really hurting and she didn't feel well.  She got to come home, sleep and relax.  I worked a lot of the day in the studio, working on a new pattern.  I was working on making a card holder.  Credit, business or gift card.  I already have a little zipper pouch and wanted to add this to my line for something even more compact.  Here is butterfly #102.

So the butterfly is just a little outside detail.  The card holder can be plain on the front and it looks just as cute.  If you click on the photo to zoom in, you can see the detail of the butterfly.  I did a blanket stitch around the butterfly in green thread.  I used the same green to sew on the button.  Here is the inside.

I have business cards in the top half and credit card size cards in the bottom.  It fits about 5 credit cards or 10 business cards in each slot.  It is nice and compact and fits great in my clutch bags.  The fabric is called Summer Smooches from Stampin' Up!  I plan on having these in lots of different fabric options to match my bags.  I will show you a picture of the zipper pouch tomorrow.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day # 101

Hello,

I hope you all had a good day.  I was working on another project and didn't finish, so I decided to move on to an illustration.  Here is butterfly #101.

Nothing compared to the 100 butterflies from yesterday but it's not to shabby.  I like the upper wings on this one.

Well, I don't have much else to say tonight.  Hannah had to be at school this morning at 6am for a field trip, so that means I was up at 5am and that's a little to early for me.  : )  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #100!!!

Hello Hello!

How are you tonight?  I hope you are well!  I have to say I had a very long day today.  Four hours with different doctor visits today.  So, when I sat down to do my butterfly I thought just a quick sketch for tonight.  Then I remembered it was day #100 and I thought I should be doing something special.  So instead of a quick one, I spent over an hour on this.  Here is butterfly #100.

Here are 100 butterflies for my day #100.  Nothing super creative here, but of course I still spent time placing each butterfly, making sure colors were spread around, and counting a few times, to make sure I had 100.  Just crazy things like that.

I like the side view as well to see the clutter.  I like the way this turned out and think it would make a cool fabric.  Maybe a bit to much going on but I like it for a background.  Well that's my crazy day number 100.  I honestly can't believe it.  I have to say I have wanted to give up more than a few times, because that would be easier, however, something keeps me going.  It really feels good to finish another day.  I hope you are enjoying these.  As always, thanks so much for stopping by and have a great one!!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #99

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  Today Hannah had her first post-op appointment with her doctor.  Everything went well.  The incision looks really good, the doctor did a great job.  She got a cast on today, so she feels a little more stable.  She tripped twice in the last two days and it really hurt.  The cast will help protect her ankle more.  That was a three hour time block of our day.  Of course there was the usual chores as well today.  So on to my butterfly.  Here is butterfly #99.

I have an illustration in green for you tonight.  This one I just drew direct to paper with the marker.  No pencil.  I only did one other take.  Actually, I almost went to a third.  I had the wings done and then went to add a little something to the body and my hand flinched.  Of course I didn't like it then but I worked with it and changed it up.  That's how all the little circles in the body came about.   Well that's all for tonight.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #98

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.  I'm going straight to my butterfly project tonight.  So here you go, butterfly #98.

I wanted to do a vintage inspired card tonight and make it look like I just threw pieces and parts together.   I do like the way it came out but it definitely wasn't thrown together.  Lots of time went into it.

Supplies:

Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set - 126257 clear, 126255 wood
Papillon Potpourri - 123759 clear, 123757 wood
Early Espresso Card Stock -119686
Early Espresso Ink - 126974
Crumb Cake Card Stock - 120953
Crumb Cake Ink - 126975
Very Vanilla Card Stock - 101650
First Edition Specialty DSP - 121878
Elegant Butterfly Punch - 127526
Big Shot - 113439
Bitty Banners Framelits - 129267
Honeycomb Embossing Folder - 129378
Artisan Embellishments Kit - 129328
Vintage Trinkets - 118764
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

I added two layers behind the stamped butterfly image today.  I separated each one with dimensionals to give the butterfly more 'pop'.  The mini vintage buttons are actually the brads from the Vintage Trinkets.  I just cut off the brad tabs and adhere the fronts with glue dots.  That way you don't have to worry about going through layers with the brads.  Well that's all for tonight.  Have a good one!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #97

Hello!

I hope you had a good Sunday!  It seemed like a very busy one.  Of course I was doing my taxes, so I guess that is why.  I always say I am not going to wait until the last minute and keep up monthly but that never happens.  : )  Today's butterfly goes with day #95 butterflies, you can see them here.  Here is day #97.

Supplies:
Floral District DSP - 126919
Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon - 126876
Big Shot - 113439
Petite Purse Bigz L Die - 125606
Beautiful Wings Embosslits - 118138
Bitty Butterfly Punch - 129406
Sticky Strip - 104294
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

This is a paper version of my real life version, I guess you could call it.  This little paper version will only hold a few little chocolates or a little something special.  The real life version will hold all your essentials.  Here is a picture of them both.

The fabric is also from Stampin' Up! and is also Floral District print.  The fabric and Designer Series Paper are similar but not exactly the same print.  They both have their butterflies.  : )  I hope you enjoyed these!  I hope to get this up on my Etsy shop in a couple days.  I need to take more pics first. Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #96

Hi there!

I have a quick post tonight.  I am super tired.  I have an illustration for you tonight.  I started with a whole bunch of color sharpies but then ended up with just one color.  Here is butterfly #96.

What do you think?   I actually like seeing it in color for a change.  I will start to add color more often now.  I am still working on finishing the project that uses the butterflies from yesterday.  Hopefully I can show you that tomorrow.

That's all tonight.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #95

Hello,

I hope you had a good day.   I have a quick post tonight.  I need to go pick up Molly.  She is returning from her Washington DC trip tonight and I pick her up at school around 11pm or so.  After dinner I went to work in the studio and decided to sew again.  It is still a little messy but I really wanted to sew.  I am working on a bigger project and the butterflies are just a part of that.  Here is butterfly #95.

These are two fabric butterflies.  I used Stampin' Up! fabric for these ones.  The front and back of each are the same print and then I have four layers of plain cotton fabric in the middle.  I do some top stitching to hold all the layers together.  I then use a metallic thread to sew down the the middle and add a little more pop.

That's all for tonight.  Hopefully I will finish the rest of the project and show you that tomorrow.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

One more new item, that will be in the new catalog, but you have a chance to purchase now, is 'This and That' line.

Your life is: Awesome. Quirky. Exciting. Perfectly messy. And happening really fast. So Stampin' Up! is happy to introduce it's newest product line that lets you capture it all on-the-go. This and That will debut in the  2013-2014 annual catalog, but Stampin' Up! is giving you the chance to get it now.

This is a fun new product!  I just received mine and the girls are excited about them as well.  They are great for on the go, but also to put something together quickly at home.  The pages are made of printed paper, so your base is done and it's just about adding all the extras, like photos, notes, ticket stubs, what have you.  I think this is a fun line and look forward to using it.

You can see more details and close up of the items and other specials by visiting my promotions page here.  http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/kellygodlewski/promotions  From there just click on the item that interests you and you will be taken to the store that has more images and details.

Let me know if you have any questions!!  Don't forget about the chance to earn the Hostess Benefits.

Have a great day!

Take care,
Kelly
