Project 365, Day #90

Hello!

I hope you had a good day!  Today is Hannah's 16th birthday!  I really can't believe how big my girls are getting.  It does go quick.  We went to the beach today for a walk, to look for shells and Hannah went for a run.  Not to many shells today.  Molly was kind enough to help me with my butterfly project today.  Here is butterfly #90.

We got there early so the sand was still nice.  A simple hand drawn butterfly.  I stepped around in the wing sections to make a little pattern.  Molly really is a trooper to do this.  We walked around for a while, after we made this.  On our way back to the car, we stopped to find the butterfly again.

We did find it, and you can see a few more footprint trails to the beach.  Molly posed one more time for me.  She leaves for Washington DC tomorrow morning, for her eighth grade trip.  I have to drop her off at 5:30am.  She is so excited!  We had a nice ham dinner tonight and had Hannah's cake for dessert.  She wanted the chocolate wafer with whipped cream cake.  It is everyone's favorite and pretty easy to make.  That's about it for tonight.  I need to get to bed early as well, but I am sure I will still be up for a little.

I hope you had a great day!  Whether you celebrate Easter, Passover, the Vernal Equinox or just a beautiful day,  I hope it was a day filled with joy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #89

Hello,

I hope everyone is having a good Saturday!  Today I worked on cleaning my studio some more.  I have the sewing area almost finished so I can start sewing again, yeah!  It's been over a month since I have sewn, and I am missing it.   I finished my butterfly early today.  We are going out to celebrate Hannah's birthday.  The girls always get to choose their favorite restaurant for their birthday's.  We are going to Mahe tonight, which is a sushi place.  It's my favorite as well.  We also need to color eggs when we get home and I need to make her cake.  So here is butterfly #89.

It is a stepped up version from day #87, you can see that one here.  I added layers behind the Whisper White and made the card base the Pool Party.  I decided to 'bling' it up with Basic Rhinestones.  It also looked cool just plain, if you are not a 'bling' person.  For this one, I will put the greeting on the inside of the card.

Project 365, Day #88

Happy Friday to you!

I hope you had a good day.  I did a lot of odd jobs.  I needed to get new 1" x 3" pieces of wood trim to put new sash around the garage window since that had to be ripped out.  Of course that took two trips to Home Depot because it says it's 1 x 3 but it's really only 2 1/2" wide.  I knew that the measurements aren't the same on wood pieces but I didn't bring my tape measure with me, so that's what happens.  I got to cut them out and then we lost power for 1 1/2 hours.  When Molly got home from school we went to the mall.  We ended up shopping for 3 hours.  I was tired from that trip for sure.  She leaves for Washington DC on Monday morning for her 8th grade trip.  She is growing out of everything about every two months it seems, so it was time to get her a few new clothes.  After shopping it was dinner and then before I know it it's 8:30.  I decided I wanted to draw tonight.  Here is butterfly #88.

This is a really simple butterfly but I really liked it and didn't want to start adding to it and then end up with something I didn't like.  The scan doesn't look as good as the original to me.  I think this is a great base to add more to it, but I am not sure what that is now.  I am thinking of designing some fabric for my handbags so every time I draw I think about what it could be.

I hope you have a great weekend!   Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #87

Hello,

I hope you all had a good day!  I was busy out of the house today.  Volunteering at school in the morning and then the normal running.  Hannah had a dentist appointment and then from there I had a meeting at school.  I didn't get home until 9pm, so I wanted to do a butterfly quick because I was tired.  Here is butterfly #87.

It is a very simple card.  I used the negative space again and just basic punching.  A simple greeting at the bottom and done.  This is also a great card because you can use any greeting you like.

 Supplies:
Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set - 120501 clear, 117002 wood
Whisper White Card Stock - 100730
Pool Party Card Stock - 122924
Basic Black Card Stock - 121045
Basic Black Ink - 126980
Elegant Butterfly Punch - 127526
Bitty Butterfly Punch - 129406
2 1/2" Circle Punch - 120906
1 3/4" Circle Punch - 119850
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

Well that's all for tonight.  I am hitting the hay.  This looks like a step up card for me for tomorrow.  : )  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #86

Good evening!

I hope you had a good day.  I don't feel like I have much to say today.  Sometimes I don't think you want to hear my blah, blah, blah.  Or that's what I think it sounds like.  Any hoot, we are all probably in the same boat when it comes to our crazy daily lives.  So on to today's butterfly.  Here is butterfly #86.

I wanted to take yesterday's card and vintage it up.  This is what I came up with.  For the most part it has the same elements.  I used Crumb Cake 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon instead of the Pool Party 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon.  I distressed the edges of the card stock and brushed them with Crumb Cake Ink.   I used the Basic Pearls instead of the Basic Rhinestones.

Supplies:

That's the Ticket Stamp Set - 128075 clear, 128072 wood
Postage Due Stamp Set -  126397 clear, 126395 wood
Ticket Duo Builder Punch - 126883
Very Vanilla Card Stock - 101650
Pool Party Card Stock - 122924
Midnight Muse Card Stock - 126843
Midnight Muse Ink - 126860
Crumb Cake Ink - 126975
Crumb Cake 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon - 122332
Big Shot - 113439
 Beautiful Wings Embosslits - 118138
1 1/4" Circle Punch - 119861
1 3/8" Circle Punch - 119860
  Pearl Basic Jewels - 119247
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

I frayed the edge of the seam binding ribbon to add a different look.  I also changed up the accent tickets.  I felt they needed to be changed up for this vintage look.  I hope you enjoyed this version.  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #85

Hello,

I hope everyone had a good day!  We finally got our appraisal done, so now I can breathe and not worry about keeping everything so spit spot.  That is not my forte.   : )  Still lots to do with finishing the home improvements that have started but the will be an ongoing thing for sure.  I made a card again for tonight's butterfly.  Here is butterfly #85.

I just got the new Ticket Duo Builder Punch, so I decided to use it.  It coordinates with the That's the Ticket stamp set from the spring catalog.  This a clean and simple design again.  I really like the way this turned out.  I think anything with Pool Party card stock I love, because it is my favorite color.

Supplies:

That's the Ticket Stamp Set - 128075 clear, 128072 wood
Ticket Duo Builder Punch - 126883
Whisper White Card Stock - 100730
Pool Party Card Stock - 122924
Midnight Muse Card Stock - 126843
Midnight Muse Ink - 126860
Pool Party 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon- 122975
Big Shot - 113439
 Beautiful Wings Embosslits - 118138
1 1/4" Circle Punch - 119861
1 3/8" Circle Punch - 119860
 Rhinestone Basic Jewels - 119246
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

I popped the ticket pieces up with dimensional,s as well as the entire greeting piece.  It really helps make a simple card pop.  That dimension is so important.

I guess that's it for tonight.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #84

Hello,

I hope everyone is having a good day.  I am very tired tonight, I think last week and the weekend are catching up with me.  We had the stucco redone on the house today.  Things are coming along and I can almost finish putting my studio back together.  I still went out and did my butterfly tonight.  My desk is so crowded that I am working on a tiny little space and I keep piling things on top of one another.  It gets a little crazy but I can still work like that.  Here is butterfly #84.

I was drawing a blank at first and walking back and forth from the garage to the living room.  I was thinking that I would end up drawing but really felt to tired for that.  I decided I would use the same stamp as yesterday, that way you could see how it looks with simple straight stamping.  The layering is very easy with Whisper White and Basic Black.  A few black rhinestones for accent and this simple 3" x 3" card is done.

Supplies:
Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set -  123759 clear, 123757 wood
Whisper White Card Stock - 100730
Basic Black Card Stock - 121045
Basic Black Ink - 126980
Elegant Butterfly Punch - 127526
Postage Stamp Punch- 122344
1 1/4" Square Punch -
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683
 Stampin' Trimmer - 126889

The sets of black and white layers are popped with dimensionals, as well as the butterfly.  It is a little hard to tell in the photos but it looks great in person.  That's all for tonight.  I need to get things straighten up for the appraiser tomorrow morning.  I will be glad to get that done finally.  Have  a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #83

Hello!

I hope you had a good weekend and a good Sunday.  We did a lot of work around the house today.  Hannah went to Disneyland with two of her friends to celebrate her 16th birthday.  That is what she wanted to do, a nice day with two good friends.  Her birthday is the 31st, which is Easter this year, so it makes it hard to do things with her friends on that day.  They had a great time.

We had a late dinner of left overs, and then I went in the studio to make a card.  I was trying to think of something to do tonight and just staring at my mess.  I was looking at the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and trying to figure out something different to do with it.  Here is butterfly #83.

The thing that is different is the coloring in of the butterfly image.  I decided to color each individual diamond of the butterfly using Elegant Eggplant.  I first stamped the image in So Saffron ink.  I then took a blender pen and pulled the so saffron ink off the little diamond shapes.  I then colored in the diamond shpaes with the Elegant Eggplant marker.  It was a lot of work but it looks cool.  The rest of the card is pretty straight forward.  Here is a close up of the butterfly.

Supplies:
Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set -  123759 clear, 123757 wood
Sassy Salutations Stamp Set - 126707 clear, 126705 wood
So Saffron Card Stock - 105118
So Saffron Ink - 126957
Elegant Eggplant Card Stock - 105126
Elegant Eggplant Ink - 126969
Elegant Eggplant Marker
Whisper White Card Stock - 100730
Elegant Butterfly Punch - 127526
So Saffron 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon - 122982
Big Shot - 113439
Honeycomb Embossing Folder - 129378
Pearl Basic Jewels - 119247
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683
Stampin' Trimmer - 126889

The butterfly may have take a little more time than just inking up and stamping but once it is done the rest of the card comes together pretty easy.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #82

Hello!

A early post for me today.  We have tickets to see Hello Dolly at the high school tonight.  One of my favorite musicals and it will be nice to see what they do with it.  I did help with the curtains for the scenery and I know that the technical theater group does an amazing job.  We won't get home until 10:30, so I know I would be tired by then.  I did have an idea earlier for my butterfly, so that is nice to already start with an idea.  Here is butterfly #82.

I cute little purse with butterfly accents.  It really is just a miniature mock up of one of my real clutch bags.  I wish we had this print in fabric, it is a classic design.

Supplies:

Basic Black Card Stock - 121045
Sycamore Street DSP - 127540 - SAB
Big Shot - 113439
Petite Purse Bigz L - 125606
Beautiful Wings Embosslits - 118138
Pearl Basic Jewels - 119247
1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon - 119261
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683
Stampin' Trimmer - 126889

So cute!  An update for you on my oven fiasco yesterday.  I spent about 2 1/2 hours today cleaning my oven but I am happy to say I got all the melted plastic off.  It wasn't easy but at least I got it done.  I do have tips for anyone, but hopefully that won't ever happen to anyone else.  : )  Whatever you do, don't try and scrape it off when it's warm.  That was the hardest stuff to get off.  I thought of that last night after I tried scraping twice, then I thought that a big glob would come off easier.  I was definitely right.  I did put some ice cubes on the big blobs left and they cooled and popped off relatively easy.  So that's my tip for you.

Have a great rest of your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #81

Hello!

Ok tonight's buttefly is really easy.  I am going to show you first and then explain.  Here is butterfly #81.

A chopped spinach butterfly for you tonight.  The chopped spinach was supposed to be part of the pizza's I was making for dinner.  I had the sausage already cooked, as well as the mushrooms and onions.  I turned on the oven and started stretching one dough.  I kept working and then I smelled something.  I knew immediately what it was and then I turned to the oven and saw smoke starting to billow out.  Well here is what was 'baking' in my oven.

Looks yummy, right?!!  Let me explain.  We had an appraiser coming by on Monday.  I stuck my birthday cakes, one from Molly and one from my friends Dawn & Mary, into the oven.  It was an easy way to finish cleaning and make the kitchen look nice.  Well, needless to say I don't usually 'store' things in the oven.  Tonight I was doing so many things, I didn't even think to open the door when I turned on the oven.  The cookie sheets are what I used to get the oven racks to the outside quickly.  The oven is a mess.  The plastic trays dripped all over the oven.  I did get some of it off but stopped working and decided to make a drink instead. : )  Of course we ended up with take-out for dinner.  I hope you get a good laugh out of this.  That will make me feel better.  I emailed my good friend in NY and she called me laughing.  I have to say I haven't laughed that hard, hearing her laugh.  Very funny.

Well I hope you enjoyed my simple spinach butterfly and my other 'beautiful' mess.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #80

Hello!

I hope you all had a good day!  I am still working on things for the house and searching for different things like lighting, landscapers and gate makers.  I was inspired a bit by looking for landscapers because I really wanted to make my butterfly tonight.  I just worked around my mess in the studio and came up with this.  Here is butterfly #80.

I am thinking that a few of these on a table would make a fun decoration or centerpiece.  I cut 5 pieces of Pink Pirouette card stock using the Floral Frames Framelits.  I distressed them and then separated the layers to make the full flower.  I dipped the edges in Rose Red Ink and painted the petals with watered down Pin Pirouette Ink.  The butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set.  I did simple water coloring using a Blender Pen.

Supplies:

Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set -  123759 clear, 123757 wood
Pink Pirouette Card Stock - 111351
Pink Pirouette Ink - 126956
Rose Red Ink - 126954
Whisper White Card Stock - 100730
Staz On Ink -Jet Black - 101406
Elegant Eggplant Ink - 126969
Wisteria Wonder - 126985
So Saffron Ink - 126957
 Elegant Butterfly Punch - 127526
Big Shot - 113439
Floral Frames Framelits - 127012
Glue Gun

I hope you enjoyed this butterfly tonight.  It's fun and different.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #79

Hello,

I have a quick post for you tonight.  I still can't put my studio stuff back until Saturday, so it's to hard to make something in there.  I have another illustration for you.  I am so tired tonight that I drew it in pencil and then put my head down for a sec and almost fell asleep.  I did get back up to outline it in black.  Good thing.  Here is butterfly #79.

I went back and forth on some of the details.  I like what I came up with.  Molly walked by and gave me her approval.  : )  That's all for me tonight.  I am heading to bed early.  Hopefully I can sleep through the night and catch up on some sleep.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #78

Good evening!

I hope you had a good day.  It was a long one again for me.  Still having construction issues.  I had to rearrange things in my studio because we needed to pull out the window that was in there.  I basically did that myself and then the stucco guy could fix what the problem was.   I also had to remove a side fence that was attached to the house.   The new stucco had to wrap around the house to pass inspection, so the fence had to come down.  I figured that out, and 'litterally' hammered it out.  It is pretty funny what I take on sometimes.  Hopefully it is all good and will pass inspection tomorrow : )

Hannah had a doctors appointment today that took 3 hours, then no one really wanted my 'big salad' I had planned for dinner.  We ended up having sushi tonight, which I love.  I needed to do a few things after dinner.  Since my studio is a rearranged mess, it was definitely time to draw again.  Here is butterfly #78.

It started out as a pencil sketch.  I really like how the multiple lines in a pencil sketch look.  When I go over in sharpie the lines don't look as cool because you can't get the same movement with the sharpie.  I do need to darken the lines, otherwise the scans do not turn out so well.  This is my quick sketch for tonight.  I did like the pencil sketch better but it still looks ok with the black sharpie.  Let me know what you think.  I appreciate you taking the time to stop by.  Have a great night!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #77

Hello!

I hope everyone had a good day.  It was a long day for sure.  Home improvements always seem to prove to be more challenging than one thinks.  Always something else going on that you didn't know about.  So, that made for an interesting day for me today.  On to my butterfly.  I didn't start until about 10:30pm, so I am pretty happy with it.  Here is butterfly #77.

I had the basic gray piece sitting around from another card and that was the inspiration for the card.  Wisteria Wonder card stock is the card base.  I used the Postage Due Stamp set for the background stamping and the postage stamp.  A little Wisteria Wonder 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon adds a nice accent.  The butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die.  A simple greeting finishes it off.  This is a nice card because you could really use any greeting you like.  That's it for me tonight.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #76

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope you are having a great Sunday!  We went to a friends house for an Irish Breakfast, around noon.    We all brought different items to share.  We had the Irish Bacon and I made brown bread and had Kerry's Irish Gold butter.  It's my favorite butter. : )  Molly had piano lessons at 4:30, so we got home for that.  We still have cleaning to do for an appraisal tomorrow, which I am not looking forward to.  I stopped to make a card quick before dinner, so I would be all done and could concentrate on the cleaning after.  Here is butterfly #76.

A few shamrocks made from the Small Heart punch.  I hand cut the grass out of one piece of card stock.  The butterflies are made with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits.

Supplies:

Garden Green Card Stock - 102584
Certainly Celery Card Stock - 105125
In Color Designer Series Paper Stacks In Color 2011-2013 - 122384

Project 365, Day #75

Hello!

I hope you had a great Saturday!  Today I am even more tired than yesterday.  We ripped out some vines that ran along one side of our property and over a brick wall.  It was a lot of work and I am glad it is done.  I am really tired tonight, forget about what I said yesterday.  : )  Two days in a row of work like that and my body can't handle it.  It's been to long since I've done that much.  I actually really like doing work like that, I just don't bounce back like I used to.  They are still working on our roof and will be back Monday for more.  We hired a stucco guy today and he will start Monday as well, so we can finish the roof like we need to.  It's all coming together.  After a very light dinner, I went to make a card.  I honestly don't know where things come from but I was staring at my punches and this is what I came up with.  Here is butterfly #75.

A fun little birthday card.  This is a 3" x 3" card.  The inspiration came from just looking at the Cupcake Builder Punch.  The image just sort of popped in my head from there, having a little butterfly resting on the cupcake.  I used the same color card stock from the past two days and just added Whisper White to the mix.

Supplies:
Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set - 127802 clear, 115370 wood
Elegant Eggplant Card Stock - 105126
Elegant Eggplant Ink - 126969
Melon Mambo Card Stock - 115320
River Rock Card Stock - 108640
Whisper White Card Stock - 100730
Cupcake Builder Punch - 121807
Big Shot - 113439
Beautiful Wings Embosslits - 118138
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683
Stampin' Trimmer - 126889

I hope you enjoyed this fun little birthday card.  How cute would this be on a gift?  Enjoy the rest of your evening!  Also, enjoy your St. Patrick's day tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #74

Hello!

For some reason at the end of today, I feel like it is a Saturday.  It was a long day.  We are getting a new roof.  We had the roof(shingles) torn off today.  Of course more problems are found once all the old shingles are off.  They are replacing all the fascia board around the house and have to cut down the eaves before they can replace the fascia.  Because things are being cut down we need to do some stucco on the house as well.  Chris and I had to tear out all the hedges in the front.  Well we tried to tear them out, but the roots were to deep, so we could only cut them down close to the ground.  That will work and at least you can get to the house to stucco and paint the house.  That's why I am so tired.  It was definitely a lot of work.  It is worth it because I know it will look good in the end.  I popped in the studio quick to try and make a card.  It worked and I got this one done rather quickly.  I was excited about that. : )  Here is butterfly #74.

I used the same color combination as yesterday.  When doing the card yesterday, I thought about punching the butterfly on the seam (between the two colors).  I am extremely happy the way this one came out.  This is a 3" x 3" card.  It is still simple but I love the result!  I few basic pearls in the body of the butterfly and I think that's all the accent this card needs.

Supplies:

Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set - 120501 clear, 117002 wood
Elegant Eggplant Card Stock - 105126
Melon Mambo Card Stock - 115320
River Rock Card Stock - 108640
Elegant Butterfly Punch - 127526
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683
Stampin' Trimmer - 126889
Pearl Basic Jewels - 119247

That's all for tonight.  I did take some pictures of the roof in progress.  I need to take some more, but they finished late tonight.  I have big holes in my roof right now, from the rotted boards.  I thought they would cover it but they said it's no problem here.  Still makes me a little worried with the moisture from the mist rolling in and such.  Well that's it for tonight, we have a lot to do tomorrow.  Hope you had a great day and thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #73

Hello!

I hope you had a good day.  Today I was running different errands all day.  I really feel like I didn't get much done though.  The girls got their braces put on today.  They are not very happy about it.  They wanted the braces, but now that they are on, it's a different story.  I know it takes time to get used to them and they will do better.  For my butterfly today, I decided to use yesterday's card and change the colors.  Here is butterfly #73.

It's funny, even though I basically copied the card from yesterday, it still took me almost one hour to make.  I wanted to change things up a bit, so it wasn't exactly the same card.  Sometimes that can be the hardest thing to do.  I layered the butterfly strips on a slightly wider card, so you see a little border on each side.  I didn't have a ribbon to match so I used card stock as the accent.  I also wanted to change the greeting design, so you can see another idea there.

Supplies:

Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set - 120501 clear, 117002 wood

I used the Color Coach to pick the colors for this card.  If you are struggling to put colors together, this is a great tool!  Most of the time I like to play with colors to see what I come up with.  If you would rather just flip through and find the colors already coordinated, then this is the tool.  I forget I have it sometimes.  : )  I hope you enjoyed this colorful version.  Thanks for stopping by and have a good night.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #72

Hello!

I hope you had a good day!  I have been helping out at the high school with a friend and we are working on getting curtains for their Hello Dolly production.  It's fun to get a behind the scenes look at all the work they put into a show.  I also had a meeting at the high school with Molly tonight.  It was an informative one for the honors and AP classes.  It was long, but it is good to get all that information.  Molly is excited about going and that's nice to see.  We came home from the meeting about 8:30 and I headed right to the studio to try and make a card for tonight's butterfly.  I never know what I will come up with.  I didn't have an idea in mind when I started, but this is what I got.  Here is butterfly #72.

A nice color block card for tonight.  I like punching out the butterflies and using the negative space on the card stock.  Classic colors for this card.  I also choose a simple greeting from the  Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and layered it on all three colors of card stock.

Supplies:

Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set - 120501 clear, 117002 wood
Whisper White Card Stock - 100730
Basic Black Card Stock - 121045
Basic Gray Card Stock - 121044
Basic Black Ink - 126980
Bitty Butterfly Punch - 129406
1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon - 119261
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

I hope you enjoy this card.  I think I will play with different color combinations to see how they look.  Thanks for stopping by and have a good night.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #71

Hello,

Ok, I am a little upset because I posted this butterfly last night and it never showed.  When I went to check in my saved posts, the title is there but nothing else.  Everything I wrote and the picture were gone.  It was taking a long time to load even this morning so something must have been wrong.  So I am re-posting now, but it feels like I missed a day.  Even though I know I posted it yesterday, I just feel like it is off somehow.  So on to yesterday's butterfly.

Chris and I went out to dinner last night because we needed to discuss a few things.  We sat at the bar and had a couple drinks, sandwiches and fries.  A simple dinner but a nice long discussion.  I decided to do my butterfly with food again.  Here is butterfly #71.

(I just went to add my picture and I have an option to choose from photos from my blog, so I double checked and the photo is there, yeah!  So that makes me feel better, just some other computer glitch must have happened last night.)

Back to my description.  So I might have said this before but I know I told my kids to not play with their food but I am doing it all the time now.  : )  The people at the bar were looking on as well and I am probably sure thinking I am crazy.  Actually the one young girl next to me said 'look she's playing fry 'jenga''.  I found that to be very funny and tried to explain what I was actually doing to her.  I'm sure she still thought I was crazy.

So that was basically my post from last night.  I know I will make sure I double check the posts from now on.  I have to say I do it sometimes but it will be a must from now on.

Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #70

Hello,

I hope you had a good Monday.  It was a busy one as usual for me.  I have a stepped up version of the card from day #67.  You can see that version here.   Day #67 is actually a stepped up version from day #65.  I just added a little more to it to make it pop.  Here is butterfly #70.

Sometimes I change the stepped version a little more but this time I kept it really simple.  I just added a layer of Basic Gray behind some of the layers.  It is also the card base instead of the Wild Wasabi card stock.

Supplies:
Sassy Salutations Stamp Set - 126707 clear, 126705 wood
Daydream Medallions Stamp Set - 126467 clear, 126465 wood
Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set -  123759 clear, 123757 wood
So Saffron Card Stock - 105118
So Saffron Ink - 126957
Wild Wasabi Card Stock - 108641
Wild Wasabi Ink - 126959
Basic Gray Card Stock - 121044
Certainly Celery Card Stock - 105125
Certainly Celery Ink - 126958
Elegant Butterfly Punch - 127526
Bitty Butterfly Punch - 129406
So Saffron 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon- 122982
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

Here is another view.

I like this version as well.  I just like the added dimension and pop that the Basic Gray gives the card.  Let me know what version you like best out of the three.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #69

Hello!

I hope you are having a relaxing Sunday!  Today Chris decided it would be the day we would celebrate my birthday, since he was out of town on my actual birthday.  So he fixed me a lite breakfast in the morning.  We decided to go for a walk on the beach in the afternoon.  He surprised me with a little picnic lunch for that.  It was so sweet!  It was nice to go and sit and watch the waves.  We walked around a bit and picked up shells and sea glass, just like we always do when we can.  It is very relaxing.  I decided since I was there enjoying the day, I would make my butterfly out of the shells.  Here is butterfly #69.

I dragged a piece of seaweed across the sand to make the texture for the background.  I used that same piece for the body of the butterfly.  The wings are from the sea shells and sea glass we found today.  I hope you enjoy this butterfly.  I had a great afternoon with Chris and I really enjoyed making this one.  Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #68

Good Evening!

I hope you had a good Saturday!  We had our garage sale today, so it was a busy day.  It turned out pretty good for a garage sale, most of the time they are a bust for us. : )   Tonight I am pretty tired, so I have a quick post for you.  Here is butterfly #68.

A quick card for today's butterfly.  A simple Whisper White card, with a layer of Pool Party and Wild Wasabi.  I used the negative space on the wild wasabi for the butterflies.  I like how the dry embossed pool party card stock shows through to create texture for the butterflies.  The greeting is stamped in Wild Wasabi Ink.

 Supplies:
Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set - 120501 clear, 117002 wood
Daydream Medallions Stamp Set - 126467 clear, 126465 wood
Whisper White Card Stock - 100730
Wild Wasabi Card Stock - 108641
Wild Wasabi Ink - 126959
Pool Party Card Stock - 122924
Bitty Butterfly Punch - 129406
Pool Party 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon- 122975
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

I really like the simplicity of this card and the simple greeting to finish it off.  The Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set is a great set that has 30 stamps.  You can use the phrases individually or combine them to create your own greeting.  That's all for tonight.  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #67

Hello,

I hope you are having a good day.  I have an early post today.  We have tickets to Wicked tonight and are going to dinner before that.  The girls are really excited to see the show, as am I.  I have a stepped up version of the card from Day #65.  Here is butterfly #67.

The colors of card stock are the same.  I cut the medallion out of the So Saffron this time and layered it on the Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi card stocks.   I used So Saffron 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon instead of the Bakers Twine.  I also added a detail of So Saffron card stock, by punching a border with the Scallop Trim Punch.  The larger butterfly body is punched out of Certainly Celery instead of using the negative image from behind the card.

 Supplies:
Sassy Salutations Stamp Set - 126707 clear, 126705 wood
Daydream Medallions Stamp Set - 126467 clear, 126465 wood
Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set -  123759 clear, 123757 wood
So Saffron Card Stock - 105118
So Saffron Ink - 126957
Wild Wasabi Card Stock - 108641
Wild Wasabi Ink - 126959
Certainly Celery Card Stock - 105125
Certainly Celery Ink - 126958
Elegant Butterfly Punch - 127526
Bitty Butterfly Punch - 129406
So Saffron 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon- 122982
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Glue Dots - 103683

I hope you enjoyed this version!  I'm off to go and get ready for the show.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #66

Hello!

I hope you are all having a good day!  I have an early post for you, since today is my birthday!  I don't have super plans tonight because Chris had to go to San Francisco for work.  The nice thing about that is, he gets to have dinner with Alyssa tonight.  Hannah, Molly and I are going to go to the mall and walk around for a bit and then maybe get some nice junk food for dinner and come home and watch a movie.  : )  So today's butterfly is a birthday card.  Here is butterfly #66.

My favorite color is purple so that's how I chose the colors for today's card.  I am using similar elements that I have, in the past weeks.  Here is another view for you.

I am not going to do a supply list today.  If there is something you want to know though, just ask, and I would be happy to tell you all about it.  I have one more picture to share.  Today has been an overcast day because we were supposed to get rain.  I did have one nice surprise this morning after dropping of Molly.  A beautiful rainbow!

I hope you can see it ok.  It was hard to get a good picture of it.  That's all for today.  Have a great rest of your day and evening!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #65

Hello,

I hope you are having a good evening.  I am still working on cleaning out the storage unit and getting ready for the garage sale on Saturday.  It is definitely overwhelming going to the storage unit.  I am coming across things that I thought I had, but couldn't find, and now it's like, that's where it was.  The problem is there are a lot of things I still want to hang on to.  Finding the room is the issue.  I am definitely getting better at letting things go, but it is hard.  So speaking of letting things go, I got a new stamp set and punch in today.  See I have issues : )  Anyways, it means a little change up for my cards.  So for today's butterfly, I have a card.  Here is butterfly #65.

The base card is So Saffron.  I used the Elegant Butterfly punch to punch out the shape from the so saffron card stock.  I layered a piece of Wild Wasabi card stock behind that, to just have that show through the punch.  The Bitty Butterfly punch is from Certainly Celery card stock.  I stamped one of the medallion images in So Saffron Ink on So Saffron card stock.    The greeting is stamped in Wild Wasabi ink, to have it stand out a little bit.   I took the Whisper White Bakers Twine and dragged it across the So Saffron ink pad to color it.

 Supplies:

Sassy Salutations Stamp Set - 126707 clear, 126705 wood
Daydream Medallions Stamp Set - 126467 clear, 126465 wood
Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set -  123759 clear, 123757 wood
So Saffron Card Stock - 105118
So Saffron Ink - 126957
Wild Wasabi Card Stock - 108641
Wild Wasabi Ink - 126959
Certainly Celery Card Stock - 105125
Certainly Celery Ink - 126958
Elegant Butterfly Punch - 127526
Bitty Butterfly Punch - 129406
Whisper White Bakers Twine - 124262
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332

I hope you enjoyed this card.  Thanks for stopping by and have a good evening.

Kelly

Project 365, Day #64

Good evening!

I hope you are all doing well.  Today was a busy day.  Usual chores and I did get a little cleaning in my studio done.  The girls had dentist appointments in the afternoon.  They had to get teeth pulled in preparation for braces.  Not a fun thing for them for sure.  While I was waiting, I read a little and then decided to draw for tonight's butterfly.  The girls are doing well.  Molly is still waiting to get all the feeling back, so she can eat a little something.  I finished my drawing after dinner.  Here is butterfly #64.

I started out with a different butterfly.  I was making little leaves as the design within a larger leaf.  I  didn't like the way it was turning out.  I then went with this design and I like it better.   Just a branch and a couple of leaves, but I like the simplicity of it.  That's all for tonight.  I hope you have a good evening.  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #63

Hello,

I hope you are having a good day.  Today was the usual busy Monday for me.  I decided to do a stepped up version of the vintage card from day #61 for today's butterfly.  Here is the original post, Day #61, if you want to see that one.   Here is butterfly #63.

I used Crumb Cake card stock for the base of the card.   I distressed that a little with Crumb Cake ink.  I used a layer of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper behind the Basic Black card stock.  I distressed that with the Crumb Cake ink as well and also tore and rolled the edges.   The Basic Black layer is basically the same, I just tore the edges.  The butterfly element is the exact same as the original card.   I decided to change up Crochet Trim and just use a small piece.  I did brush the trim with Crumb Cake ink as well.   The greeting and Vintage Trinket safety pin are also the same.  Here is another view.

Supplies:
Tiny Tags - 118592 clear, 118091 wood
First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper - 121878
Crumb Cake Card Stock - 120953
Basic Black Card Stock - 121045
Basic Black Ink - 126980
Crumb Cake Ink - 126975
Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin' Pad - 126857
Big Shot - 113439
Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die - 114507
Vine Street Embossing Folder - 130492
5/8" Crochet Trim - 118481
Vintage Trinkets - 118764
Antique Brads - 117273
Jewelry Tag Punch - 117190
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
Glue Dots - 103683
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Sticky Strip - 104294

I hope you like this stepped up version.  Let me know what you think!  Have a great evening and thank you for stopping by!

Project 365, Day #62

Hello,

I hope you had a good Sunday!  Today was a working day for me again.  We went to the storage unit again, to sort some more things.  We did get a good amount done.  I beaded a little more tonight, I really want to finish the bracelet I just started.  Since I was getting tired, I decided tonight was going to be a quick sketch.  I was thinking more along the lines of a minimalist drawing.  I had the image of Picasso's John Lennon in my head.  Things are harder to put to paper, than what is in your head though.  : )  Here is butterfly #62.

So I have a few options to choose from for tonight's butterfly.  I actually have about four more that I did , but totally scrapped or drew more on top of them.  These are all pretty similar but I just thought they would look better as a collage.  The only difference is the continuation or separation of some of the lines.  I was trying to contain myself to using only 5 or 6 lines.  They all have that, but I found it hard to vary them, the way I wanted to.  Those are my crazy butterflies for tonight.  Hope you have a great rest of your evening.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Project 365, Day #61

Hello!

Today I had a bead class for a few hours.  I learned a new technique and now I have another new project to finish.  : )  I am loving this but it is definitely hard to squeeze in all the extra hours to finish the pieces.  I have to remember to take pictures and share my finished projects with you.  Chris and I also went to our storage unit today to try and clean some more out because there is a neighborhood garage sale next weekend.  Hopefully we can empty that storage unit soon.  We have had it for far to long.  Tonight I decided to do a card again.  A butterfly idea popped into my head today and I wanted to try and see what I could make of it.  I actually wasn't going to make the butterfly into a card but I need more time to work on the other idea/project.  Here is butterfly #61.

I was going for a vintage look with this one.  I distressed the butterflies with Crumb Cake and Basic Black inks.  I used the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin' Pad again as well on the background.  I have a tiny safety pin from the Vintage Trinkets.  I used the Jewelry Tag punch to punch a little greeting from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set.

Supplies:
Tiny Tags - 118592 clear, 118091 wood
First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper - 121878
Basic Black Card Stock - 121045
Basic Black Ink - 126980
Crumb Cake Ink - 126975
Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin' Pad - 126857
Big Shot - 113439
Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die - 114507
Vine Street Embossing Folder - 130492
5/8" Crochet Trim - 118481
Vintage Trinkets - 118764
Antique Brads - 117273
Jewelry Tag Punch - 117190
Stampin' Dimensionals - 104430
Glue Dots - 103683
SNAIL Adhesive - 104332
Sticky Strip - 104294

One more view for you.

Simple, single layer card for you.  I will probably step this one up at some time as well.  I really like the look of the designer series paper, especially when I distress it with a little ink.  It makes a great simple card.  I hope you enjoyed today's butterfly.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly
