Project 365, Day #54

I hope your weekend is going well.  Today I did some yard work.  Actually, it was very needed yard work.  I don't know where the weeds come from, but they seem to go from nothing to 2 feet tall in no time.  Now the front yard looks nice.  I still need to work on the back yard though.  We had a last minute decision, and Chris and I went out for dinner again.  We are trying to focus on us a bit, which is nice.  The girls were actually asking us to go out so they could make mac'n cheese.  They picked out a box the other day at Whole Foods, so they could have something good when we go out.  I usually don't make that, so they are thrilled to have the box version, even if it is organic whole foods brand.  I guess they get tired of salads all the time.  : )  So, while we were out, I kept thinking about my butterfly and what I was going to do.  I thought I would draw one when I got home.  We walked around a bit downtown after dinner and then stopped at Duke's to hang out for a little bit more.  I decided I would work on my butterfly there because I liked the cocktail napkins.  So here you go, butterfly #54.

It is a little hard to see.  I did draw in pen on the napkin but some of the lines are harder to see.  This is actually the second butterfly I drew.  I didn't like the first one that much, but I will show you that one as well.

I actually stopped drawing on this one because I didn't like the way it was turning out.  I honestly think the second one could use a little help as well.  Chris told me that it is fine and just go with it.  I can work on it again for butterfly #325 or something like that.  He was adding his input and making suggestions along the way.  He actually just walked by and said I should have scanned them in color.  I didn't think it would make that much a difference but I decided to scan them in color.

Well, I hate to say it but he was right.  You can see the surf boards better, which is why I like the napkins.  Actually the pen stands out nicer as well.  I hope you enjoyed these butterflies.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
