Wintery Hello and a chance to help

It's hard to believe I live in Southern California, when I have been waking up to 36 degrees.  : )  I feel like I am back in New York.  Just waiting for the snow now.  I love the snow this time of year and have missed it.  I would like to see it, just not sure it should be at the beach, but hey, who knows.

I wanted to share something I saw on another demonstrators site and pass this along to all of you.

When school resumes for Sandy Hook, it will be in a new building. Parent-volunteers are working to ensure that the students are welcomed back by a winter wonderland with the entire school decorated with as many unique snowflakes as possible.

*this is copied right from the Connecticut PTSA site*

Connecticut PTSA is deeply saddened by the tragedy that has struck our Newtown community. We have met with the PTA and community leaders in Newtown and Sandy Hook Elementary to offer our assistance at this very difficult time. They have asked us to spearhead the following efforts on their behalf:
Snowflakes for Sandy Hook
Please help the students of Sandy Hook have a winter wonderland at their new school! Get Creative!! No two snowflakes are alike. Make and send snowflakes to Connecticut PTSA, 60 Connolly Parkway, Building 12, Suite 103, Hamden, CT 06514, by January 12, 2013.

I hope you can all join in helping make snowflakes.  I started making snowflakes again every year, after watching 'Elf' the first time, and decorating the house with them.  So we have already already been working on them.  I am also trying to see if we can do something at the girls schools.  I hope you can join me and others to help out with the snowflakes!

Take care,

Ornamental Elegance Kit

I hope everyone is doing well!  I have been sick for a week battling flu symptoms and then a sinus infection.  I am still not 100% but I need to get back to work : )

Stampin' Up! just put together a Ornamental Elegance Kit.  It is a simplified version of the ornament that is on the front cover of the Holiday Catalog.  They got such great response from it, they decided to put together a kit.  You can order these kits now and they are while supplies last.  I imagine they won't last long.

The Ornamental Elegance Kit (132832) is $14.95 and includes:
  • Die-Cut Cardstock Elements
  • Cherry Cobbler 3-1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon
  • Natural Linen Thread
  • Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons
  • Large Pearl Basic Jewels
This is just in time to create 10 heirloom ornaments--or stunning tags to attach to a special neighbor gift.

In addition to the kit, all you need is a glue gun, scissors, and adhesive. (Our Anywhere Glue Sticks [104045] are perfect for assembly.) Want greeting or place cards to go with those ornaments? The Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set (W 128048 C 128051) gives you perfect coordination. Fancy a little sparkle and shine? Sprinkle on our Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter

Act fast if you like these.   Are you interested in attending a class where you could assemble these?  Let me know by commenting on the post.  I would be happy to set up a class and order all the goodies, so they are here ready and waiting for you to complete.

Enjoy your day!

Take care,
