Hello,

I hope everyone is doing well.  I have a Halloween Stamp Camp for you!  There are some fun projects and some new options for you.

Here are all the projects you will be making.  The class is $15 and includes a package of Brights Glimmer Brads!  The class will be Sunday, October 23, 1-4pm.

More details:

You will make three cards, one bat treat holder and two cello bag treat holders.  I will not have the candy to fill the treat holders, that way you can pick your favorites to add to them later.  I will show you my trick for filling the 1" x 8"  cello bags, making it easy to fill.

A new option for you.  Would you like to make multiples of the cards, so you have them ready to send out?  You can request multiples of the cards you like and I will have everything cut and prepared for you to do more.  The cost per card is $2.00  The choices of cards are the spider web card or the bat card.  The candelabra is not a choice because it requires 3 glimmer brads and one container will only make two cards.

If you are interested in making more of the bat treat holders or the cello bag treat holders, let me know and I will give you a price for those.

Pre-payment and RSVP of the class is due by Tuesday, October 18th.  That way I will have time to order all of the supplies.  You can use the button below to pay the $15 for the class.  Or you can send me a check for the class, and email me and let me know it's on the way.

Another new option for you.  Do you need a few supplies or were thinking of putting an order in?  If you give me your order with your RSVP, I will have all your supplies here for you when you come to class.  This is a nice way to save on shipping if you only needed a few things.  If you would like to place an order or add on more cards to your camp just let me know.  I can take a check or credit card for your order.

If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly

Handbags!

Hello!

I hope everyone is doing well!  I know it's been a long time since my last post again.  I am just doing a quick one tonight to get my handbags up for all of you who have asked about them.  If I met you at Convention, I had a great time and hope all of you did too!  I have been playing catch-up with all the family stuff and now we leave tomorrow for a family vacation.  : )

I will have more details on the bags when I return from vacation.  If you have any questions in the mean time, please feel free to email me at kgdezigns@verizon.net or leave a comment here.

These are just a couple of quick pictures of one of the bags.  They are not the best quality photos because I took them at night.  I will have better ones when I return.

Just a little bit of information for you.  This is a great little bag that holds a whole bunch.  Each layer of fabric is backed with a fleece lining to give it strength and stability.  This bag will stand up on it's own, even empty.  The frames are high quality and nickel-free for anyone who might have allergies.  I will have other fabric combinations as well.  For you Stampin' Up! ladies, I have the Flirtatious fabric combination as well.

I guess that's it for now.  I need to finish packing a few things.  Remember if you have any questions, just let me know with an email or comment!

Take care and thanks for stopping by!

It's been a while...

Hello again,

I know it's been a while, about a month.  It really is hard to believe.  Sometimes I don't know where the time goes.  I lost my mojo for a bit and also have been busy at school with the girls.  Hannah has her birthday next week, but had her party yesterday, so I thought I would share my cake for her.  As always they are an adventure to make but I sure do like the way the come out.

This is the first shot before two final touches.  Hannah likes to shop.  She is always looking at things online and in stores.  However, she doesn't quite have the money she would need to buy everything she loves.  She saves for a bit, but it does go quickly.  : )  It was funny because her friends at the party said 'Is this a hint of what you are getting from your parents?'  Of course I was standing right there and added a big 'no' to that one.  Very funny.

Here are the two little touches.  An even smaller card with her birthday greeting.  However, her purse will still not fit either one.  She really liked it and had a great time at her party!
I hope you enjoyed that quick update.  Hopefully I'll be back a little quicker thank last time.

Take care,
Kelly

Distressed

One more version using similar pieces.  This one I distressed using a sponge piece and the mahogony ink pad from the distressing kit.  I also used one of the Mini Vintage Tags.  I also sponged a little Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  Make sure you click on the picture to enlarge it.  You can really see the details when it is enlarged.

Here's a side shot with a peek of the inside.  See the dimension of the flower and the gathered ribbon?

One more shot of the complete inside.  I also distressed the inside layers as well.

Another Scrap

I am trying to post now and not wait until later in the evening.  As soon as the kids get home, they are on the computer for school.  Sometimes I am just to tired to sneak back on after 10pm.  I hope others are tired by then as well and it's not just me.  : )
So, I have the other sample using the circle scrap.   I added a bit of sponging to the edges of the flowers this time.  It just creates a bit more depth to the flower.  I also have the Pear Pizzazz 1/2" Stitched Poly Ribbon and the Basic Pearls.

I also like to give you a side view of the card, so you can see the dimension.

I hope you like this version as well.  I have one more card using the same colors and flower but it is a aged/distressed card.  I hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

One more picture for you.  I forgot to post it the other day, so I wanted to add it.  I wanted to show the card without the flower.  When I used the Vintage wallpaper embossing folder this time, I did it a little different.  I ran it through once to get the image, then I ran the card stock through again, just between the two plastic plates.  I also used the recessed side.  It just gave a cool affect when I ran it through another time.  Enjoy!

Got Scraps?

Hello.  Today I wanted to show you a card I made using some scraps.  Normally I have been throwing out the smaller pieces and scraps, in an effort to stay a bit more organized.  (Sometimes it works.)  I got these scraps when I cut the circles for the Owl cards on the previous post.  I was about to toss them when I stopped and said to myself I should try using these.

So, here it is, the first card with the scraps.  I layered three of the scraps on top of a piece of Pear Pizzazz that was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  I then cut some flowers from the new die, Fun Flowers .  I ran the flowers through the paper crimper a few times and then worked them with the bone folder to separate the layers.  When you separate the card stock, the inside almost has a suede feel.  I layered the flowers up and then finished the center with a Vintage Flower Adornment from the Ocassions Mini.

I love the flower and the suede feel of it.  I hope you enjoy this one.  I have another sample using this same scrap piece tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by.

Workshop Cards

Wow, where does the time go?  A week just seems to fly by.  I had sick kids home again this week.  It just seems to have started all over again, made the rounds and back again.  I am trying to get out and stamp again today but I thought I would post the cards we made last week at one of my clubs.  The first is this cute owl card.  I just think he is so cute and there are so many ways to use him.  I stamped the owl using the Sale-a-bration set and then punched him out.  I added a punched vest from one of the papers from Greenhouse Gala, and the little heart.  I also gave him some heavy eyelids with Chocolate Chip cardstock.  I love the pom pom trim that is in the Occasions mini.  It's a fun new way to add some interest to your projects.  The card is made using the Scallop Circle from the Big Shot.  Just a fun card to make and of course you can cheer him up and make it for any occasion.

This next card uses the new fabrics from the Occasion mini called Springtime Vintage.  It also uses a stamp from the same set as the owl, Punch Bunch from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  I hand colored the flowers and stems with markers and then punched the middle section out.  Layered that on just the image stamped in Pear Pizzazz, that was punched out in the Scallop Circle.  The flowers are cut from the new Sizzix die, Fun Flowers.  The bottom layer is adhered with the multipurpose adhesive sheets and the next layer is just with dimensionals.  I kept that layer loose, to add more dimension.  The finishing touches are a button from the Big Designer Buttons and Rose Red Seam Binding.  The entire card is one layer of Rose Red cardstock embossed with the Framed Tulip embossing folder.

If you enlarge the photos you can really see the details in the cards and how the different parts stand out.  I hope you like those.  Let me know what you think.  I'm off to try and do a bit of stamping.  We'll see how that goes.  : )

Take care,
Kelly

Added some 'bling'

I added some bling to the Sale-a-bration card I have been working on.  I actually did it two days ago but didn't get a chance to post it.  I have to compete with the girls for computer time.  : )

I changed up the layers a bit this time and the design.  I used the Glass Glitter for the bling around the butterfly and on the scallop border punch.  There is a bit more with the 3 Basic Rhinestones.  What do you think?

I wanted to do another one in the Baja Breeze color scheme, so I could use the Baja Breeze Glass Glitter on this one.  I just love this color and the glitter is so nice.  I did the glitter on the Scallop Edge Border different on this one.  I just did a strip this time, letting a little of the black scallop, show through.

I tried to get a better close up, so you could see the glitter.  Oh yes, and on these samples, I took out the ribbon and just used a strip of card stock to add the accent with the black.

If you would like to know any more of the details, just let me know.  I can post here if you are interestedThanks for stopping by.  Have a great Saturday!

Take care,
Kelly

Card Sample - Sale-a-bration

Hello!

Tonight I have the full size card sample of the 3 x 3 card I did on Monday.  It is super easy as you can see below.  I did the same exact thing for the layers on the background as I did for the 3 x 3. In this case the 3 x 3 card is just another layer on the full size card.  The placement of the punch and ribbon changed but that was just to balance where I put the greeting.  The background is done the same with the butterfly as well.  I just added the Bliss greeting to the card in Basic Black stamping directly on the Pear Pizzazz.  You can see how you can take any idea and turn it into any size card you need.  This was a very easy almost sort of a 'pop on' way to make the 3" x 3" into standard size 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card.
Here is the angle shot as well, so you can see the dimension to the card.  I love popping up different layers on the cards with dimensionals.  They really help make the card pop and create so much depth.  Such a simple step but it creates such a big impact.

I have some more ideas to really step up this card and add some 'bling'.  You know I tend to do things a bit more clean and simple but I have been having fun playing around with the different kinds of 'bling' you can add to your projects.  I'll see if I can get that done tomorrow to show you.  Have a great night and thanks for stopping by.

Take care,
Kelly

3 x 3 Sale-a-bration

Hi!

Time flies when you are having fun, or time just flies when you are living day to day.  It seems to be the latter for me.  : )

I hope everyone is doing well.  I made a little sample tonight using one of the free Sale-a-bration sets, called Bliss.  It is another 3 x 3 sample.  I think tomorrow I will turn it into a standard size card for you.

I just used the butterfly image for this set.  I created the background with it, stamping color on color in Pear Pizzazz.   Then some simple stamping and punching.  I stamped the bottom layer of the butterfly and punched with the 1 1/4" punch, cutting off part of the wings.  Then on scrap Whisper White, I stamped the butterfly again, this time cutting it out.  I cut the simple shape out though, not all the details.  The details show through from the bottom butterfly.  This makes the cutting very easy.  Here is a close-up of that, hopefully you can see what I mean.

A few dimensionals, a Scallop Circle punch, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and it's done.  Does that sound to simple?  It really is basic layering though and just repetition of color.  The layering is super easy when you can use the punches.  I love adding Basic Black to cards because it really makes the cards pop and look so classy.  (That's my opinion, anyways.)   : )

Let me know what you think.  I would love to hear your comments.  I hope you enjoyed this.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a good evening!

Take care,
Kelly

Card and 3 x 3 Sample

Hello,

I did good for a few days posting and then not so good.  I have had sick kids home all week.  It is making the rounds and then starting over again.  It even took me down for a day and a half.  I don't like feeling like that, just being down for the count, so to speak.  I know the girls don't like it as well, (although they don't mind the day off from school : )).  So, while out getting Ginger Ale for one of the girls this morning, I was inspired.  So, here is a picture of what inspired me.

Inspiration can really come from anywhere.  You can be surprised at the outcome as well.
So here is what I made.

If you enlarge it you can see the textured background.  I used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, but used the opposite side you would probably choose.  I like the recessed side with this card.  The rest is just simple punch shapes layered up.  I did one more, a 3 x 3.

Same pieces as the above card but just added a little more red bling, with the red glimmer paper.  I hope you enjoyed these.

If you would like me to list supplies, I would be happy to.  I would like feedback though to see if you really want it though.  If you could leave a comment and let me know, that would be great.

Thanks for stopping and have a great night!

Take care,
Kelly

Molly's Birthday Cake

Hello!  Today I thought I would share the cake I did for Molly's birthday party.  She had a late birthday party (3 months), because we were moving for her birthday last year in October.  I am a little crazy when it comes to my family's birthday cakes.  (no surprise for some of you)
: )  It actually started with Alyssa's 1st birthday, 16 years ago...crazy.  Any hoot, I love to create something based on what they are into at the time.  Molly is really into Greek Mythology now, so this is what I came up with.  This one is a bit simpler compared to some of the others but still very cool.

In case you are not sure it is Medusa.  In marble form.  Molly loved it.  Molly wanted to be surprised, so she woke up to the cake, not knowing what it would be.

A couple of close-ups for you.  Remember you can click on the photos, if you want to see a larger picture.  Here's one more of the birthday girl making the first cut.
I guess that's it for tonight.  I hope you enjoyed that!

You can subscribe to my blog, so you know when I update it.  Just click on the RSS feed at the top left of the blog.  You can also become a follower as well.  I would love to see who is following this crazy adventure.

Take care & enjoy,
Kelly

3 x 3 Sample

Here is my first sample to share with you.  I love the 3 x 3 card size.  They are so fun to create and make such great gifts as well.  All my club hostesses get a set of four at their party.  Here is one I did for my January hostess.   Simple little touches that make a big impact.  I little piece of torn fabric and a red glimmer heart.  The Pretty in Pink background is made using Pretty in Pink card stock and a heart stamped in Pretty in Pink on Whisper White card stock and punched out.  I adhered the punched heart to the Pretty in Pink card stock and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  The folder blends the two papers into one and it is a great technique.  (It has a name, this technique, but for the life of me as I am writing this, I can not think of it.  Typical me.)

Introduction

Hello!  I am trying again with this blog thing.  I love the idea of it but I am definitely computer challenged sometimes.  : )   I am definitely a hands on person, so if I can't figure things out right away, the research to figure it out sometimes takes days.  (As opposed to someone showing me and viola.)

My goal is to share with you and hopefully inspire you as well.  Please share any ideas or suggestions with me as well!  I will try and post at least every other day, that's my initial goal.  I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Take care,
Kelly
